Earning University of Phoenix College Credit For Institute of Logistical Management (ILM) Courses

This document provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about gaining college credit for Transportation and Logistics courses from the Institute of Logistical Management.

What is the University of Phoenix?

All programs have been designed to meet the unique academic needs of the working adult students. The University also offers professional certificates in several fields, including a Certified Logistics Practitioner‘s certification through the Institute of Logistical Management.

How do I earn college credit for an Institute of Logistical Management course?

All course-work offered by the Institute of Logistical Management have been articulated with the University of Phoenix.

Participants of the Institute of Logistical Management courses can petition for University of Phoenix credit after completing a course. Petitioning for college credit involves completing and submitting:

Who do I contact if I have questions?

The University of Phoenix Prior Learning Assessment Center (PLAC) handles all college credits issues. Questions can be e-mailed to the PLAC at plac@phoenix.edu. A response should be received within 24 hours. To expedite an answer, specify whether or not you are a current student and what course you are inquiring about, if possible. You can call 480-317-6141 to reach a PLAC employee directly.

The PLAC staff is trained to address college credit issues related to ILM coursework. Accordingly, all questions must be directed to PLAC and not the Local University of Phoenix offices or customer service centers. Which courses are approved for credit?

For a list of Institute of Logistical Management courses that have been articulated for college credit, please visit www.phoenix.edu/plac or www.logisticseducation.edu to find the Catalog of Articulation Agreements and Extrainstitutional Evaluation (CASEE) Guide. If an ILM course is not listed, please contact the Institute of Logistical Management 1-888-ILM-4600.

How will my credits be applied?

ILM course work is articulated with the University of Phoenix.

How are Institute of Logistical Management courses approved for credit?

The University of Phoenix Prior Learning Assessment Center coordinates faculty reviews of each Institute of Logistical Management course. Upon review and approval, the University adds each course to their list of articulated courses for college credit.

College credits are assigned by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The University of Phoenix uses the information provided by ACE and DETC for attributing college credit to courses. ILM offers fifteen 3-credit courses and one 2-credit course in Transportation and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
